It's been a long time since I've posted, but I've been really busy traveling and studying lately. Since my last post I've visited Prague, Budapest, Brasov, Bucharest, and Istanbul. It's been a blast, but has definitely impacted my reading time. Still I managed to read a couple of books.
QUEEN OF SHADOWS by Sarah J. Maas
QoS is the 4th book in the THRONE OF GLASS series. I had to preorder it in hardcover and e-book form so that I could read it the second it came out even while studying abroad. To say the least, it did not dissapoint! So much has happened throughout this series so far and I can't wait to see where it goes from here.
THE RAVEN BOYS by Maggie Stiefvater
I can't believe it took me so long to start THE RAVEN CYCLE series!! I've heard such good things, but it always got pushed down on my TBR list. I decided to change that and am very glad I did. Maggie Stiefvater is an amazing writer. All the characters are so dynamic and loveable. I plan on reading the next two books before the final book comes out next year. (As I am writing this blog post, I am listening to THE DREAM THIEVES audio book :)
THE REAPER'S KISS by Abigail Baker
I've been waiting for this book to come out for the longest time, but unfortunatly it didn't quite stand up to my expectations. I love the concept of a hierarchical grim reaper society, but I couldn't connect with the characters and it was too predictable for my tastes.
SNOW LIKE ASHES by Sara Raasch
I really wanted to love this book, like REALLY, but I just couldn't. Similar to THE RAVEN BOYS I've heard nothing, but good things about it so I decided to read it since the sequel was coming out. I was so excited to finally start it, but like THE REAPER'S KISS I couldn't connect with the characters and was able to predict all major plot points. As of right now, I have no plans to read the sequel.
WINTER by Marissa Meyer
After reading two lackluster books, WINTER was my saving grace. It met and blew past every expectation I had for it. It was such a crazy ride and I cannot belive THE LUNAR CHRONICLES is over. It hurts, but it was such a satisfying ending. At least there is the novella bind-up to look forward to (there's goig to be a wedding!) and I can't wait to read HEARTLESS and see what Marissa Meyer has in store next!
